“When All Is Lost, Then All Is Found…”Father Maximilian Mary has greatly inspired me with his own music to do a cover for a song that I love very much; I simply changed some of the lyrics to be about the triumph of Mary’s Immaculate Heart. Father Maximilian already lives and has approval for what I am pursuing: life as a hermit under Canon Law 603. Outside of celebrating the Traditional Latin Mass daily and the hours of the Divine Office he spends his work periods creating music for the glory of Our Lord and the Immaculata. While I certainly don’t play any musical instrument (outside the snare drum from middle school) it was a great joy to create a video and song for my Mary!Two things make me resemble an excited child in a candy story: holy cards and Marian feast days. Today in the Carmelite Rite Calendar we celebrate the feast of the Patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary; this is especially meaningful to me as the very definition of patronage is “the support given by a patron”. Mary is truly my heart’s greatest delight, when I think of Her I take great comfort in simply knowing that this great Mother is with me. Without Her I would never know Our Lord the wait I ought, nor the way He deserves!When I first heard the original lyrics and its tune I instantly knew it was a mother singing to her child and so I tried to make the lyrics from the view point of Mary singing to Her children. One of my favorite memories of my Great Grandma when I visited her growing up was how I was always drawn to her statue of Mary in the backyard. I was able to include some of my childhood pictures of the statue in the video (now passed on to my Grandparents). This morning I providentially found out my Great Grandma’s name was Marie Lucienne (Lucy) Clemence; I was always touched by Clemence (the only name I knew her to have until today) because it’s taken from Our Lady’s Litany of Loretto of “Virgo Clemens”: Virgin Most Merciful. My Great Grandma was SUCH a light to me which is so fitting that Lucy means light. So, to also hear that her full name basically means Mary, Merciful Light is filled with meaning for me! I truly believe I received a taste of Our Lady through this special lady who was like a best friend to me growing up; She taught me everything I know about the Catholic Church and why Mary is the center of all that I have come to know and love. I can easily see Mr. Darcy’s words from Pride and Prejudice regarding Elizabeth in how Mary has transformed my own heart, by applying them to Her in all She has done for me and continues to do:I have been a selfish being all my life, in practice, though not in principle, as a child I was taught what was right but I was not taught to correct my temper. BLAISE, BISHOP AND MARTYR St. Blaise (d. 316 A.D.) was born into a wealthy Christian family in Armenia. He was trained as a physician before becoming a priest, and was finally ordained a bishop. When a wave of Christian persecution began, God instructed St. Blaise to hide in a desert cave. While he was in hiding, birds miraculously brought him food and sick men came to him to be healed. The king’s hunters eventually discovered his cave and found it surrounded by a myriad of wild animals who came to the saint to be blessed, with Blaise able to walk freely among them. Recognizing him as the local bishop, the hunters took Blaise into custody. As he went with them he continued to preach and perform miracles along the way: he healed a boy choking to death on a bone, and commanded a wolf to release a captured pig belonging to a poor woman. When Blaise was sentenced to be starved to death, the woman killed her pig to feed St. Blaise in prison. He was eventually martyred under the reign of Licinius, his body torn with wool combs before being beheaded.
