When we’re depressed or feeling blue, this prayer from Padre Pio is a way to reach out

If you find yourself in a state of darkness, the key is “to reach.”
The small framed unsigned print reads “Reach up as high as you can today, and God will reach down the rest of the way.” It’s my go-to quote for those times when I feel an emotional darkness—depression—coming on. For many of us this darkness is a familiar not-so-good old friend, the Black Dog mentioned by Sir Winston Churchill—or seasonal affective disorder.
The DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) has clinical definitions for depression, and there is as well the spiritual darkness that St. John of the Cross writes about in Dark Night of the Soul. However you’ve come to a depressive state, and for whatever history brought you there, the key in both of those dark times is to reach.

The state of darkness and depression is not a void. It is a space filled with insights that we are momentarily blinded to. When we try to go it alone, we are often too wearied to keep from going under, instead succumbing to the waves of hopelessness.

To reach is not an intuitive movement when psychologically and/or spiritually sinking into depression. Even though we’ve been taught that to despair is to turn our backs to God—which is a sin—there is another element to despairing that is sometimes overlooked. It comes from the Rule of St. Benedict, “In all things may God be glorified.”

In a recent confession, when I was in a season of depression, the priest gave me a very specific penance. I was to read about Jesus walking on stormy seas, and Peter’s fear in Matthew 14:30-31. Then reflect, specifically, on that moment when Peter is desperately reaching out to Our Lord—that second just before Jesus takes his hand.

It was a dark and doubt-filled moment for Peter, whose faith had faltered. It was also an intuitive response to a person physically drowning — reaching out, trying to grasp at anything to save his life.

Father gave me imagery by meditating on and fulfilling that penance; a metaphor to psychologically and spiritually reach for the hand of Christ. I was surprised by how quickly the instinct to survive spiritually soon matched the desire to live physically when exhausted and in deep waters.

Assured that the Lord had taken my hand so I will not drown, I often read this prayer, sometimes three times through!

Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have you present so that I do not forget you. You know how easily I abandon you.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak, and I need your strength, so that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for you are my life, and without you, I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for you are my light, and without you, I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear your voice and follow you.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love you very much, and always be in your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if you wish me to be faithful to you.
Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for you, a nest of love. Amen.
~St. Pio of Pietrelcina, Prayer After Communion

Depression is a battle, and for some of us a lifelong cross to bear. In bearing it as best we can while reaching up and out for help, we are led in to a deeper maturity of faith—which like most virtues, is not easily won.

Knjiga Istine – stav jednog vjernika

A tko će to učiniti čitamo u Otkrivenju 5,5 … Evo, pobijedi Lav iz plemena Judina, Korijen Davidov, on će otvoriti knjigu i sedam pečata njezinih.

Ni jedna privatna objava nije nad Crkvom niti nad Objavom sadržanom u Svetom Pismu i Tradiciji Crkve i u ni jednu privatnu objavu, Crkva nas uči, nije potrebno vjerovati za spasenje.

Bog s vama i svako dobro.

Bog vas blagoslovio, i umnožio plodove vašeg vrijednog rada u Božjem vinogradu!

Feeling alone and depressed? Pray this prayer to St. Jude for hope

When the world turns to shades of black and gray, pray to St. Jude.
Depression affects everyone at some point during their lives. Whether it is severe depression or something more mild, we all know that feeling of being alone and forgotten. It can take us down a dark path, one where there is little light at the end of the tunnel.
The good news is that God wants to lift you out of that rut and bring you into the glorious light of day. Prayer, matched with proper medical attention, can be a powerful aid in bringing a person out of the depths of depression into a new life of Christian joy. Below is a powerful prayer to St. Jude, a saint who was often forgotten throughout history because of his name (in Latin his name is “Judas,” but he is not the same person as Judas Iscariot). Jude is a constant intercessor for all hopeless causes and wants to help you in your need.

St. Jude, friend to those in need, I am weary from grief, without joy, without hope, struggling to find the light I know is in my soul. I turn to you, my most trusted intercessor. Take away this emptiness and the pain of my broken heart. In your compassion, help my tears to lead me to a place of peace in my heart. Too long have I forgotten the goodness of God’s world. Heal me. I yearn to feel light, to feel joy. Envelop me in brightness, and do not hold back. And I promise, if I receive these gifts, I will share them always in your name. Amen.

HIMAN

Već žarko sunce zalazi,
O Svjetlosti neprolazna,
Jedinstvo, Trojstvo blaženo,
U srca naša svjetlost lij!

Mi ujutro ti pjevamo,
Mi uvečer te molimo,
Udostoj nas da smjerno te
Sa anđelima slavimo.

Sa Ocem skupa Sinu mu
I tebi, Duše Presveti,
Nek bude, ko što bila je,
U vijeke slava vječita. Amen.

ili

Dan osmi, osmo razdoblje,
Od drugih blista sjajnije
Jer tvoj ga uskrs posveti,
O pobjedniče Isuse.

Nek duša naša najprije
Sad s tobom, Krist, uskrsne
Da jednom tijela uskrsnu
Od druge smrti slobodna.

Gle, svi ćemo ti uskoro
Pohrlit, Kriste, u susret
Da vječno s tobom živimo,
Svoj uskrs s tobom slavimo.

Da tvoje lice gledamo
I tebi slični budemo,
Da spoznamo te kakav si,
Ti svjetlo i slatkoćo sva.

Ti sve nas tada predat ćeš
Pod Duha Svetog pečatom
Svom Ocu, Kralju svevišnjem,
Za vjekovječno kraljevstvo. Amen.

da bezbožno počinim djela opaka;
i u društvu zlotvora*
da ne blagujem poslastica njihovih!
Nek me samo udari pravednik,

Čuvaj me od stupice koju postaviše meni,
od zamki zločinaca!

Kratko čitanje Rim 11, 33 – 36
O dubino bogatstva i mudrosti, i spoznanja Božjega! Kako li su nedokučivi sudovi i neistraživi putovi njegovi! Doista tko spozna misao Gospodnju, tko li mu bi savjetnikom? Prošnje
Jedinome Bogu, Ocu, Sinu i Duhu Svetomu, slavu iskažimo i usrdnom mu se molbom utecimo:

            Budi Gospodine uza svoj narod.

− i tvoj narod uživa obilje mira.
− i daj im život vječni.
− primi ih u nebeski pokoj.

Oče naš…

Molitva
Gospodine, tvoja nam je milost jedina nada, a tvoja zaštita jedina sigurnost. Molimo te: snaži svoju obitelj neprestanim dobročinstvima. Po Gospodinu.

Blagoslovio nas svemogući Bog, sačuvao nas od svakoga zla i priveo nas u život vječni.
O. Amen.

Blagoslivljamo Gospodina.
O. Bogu hvala.

  1. NKG (II) – Svagdan ili: Sv. Jeronim Emiliani; ili: Sv. Jozefina Bakhita, djevica

MISNA ČITANJA
📖: 1Kr 3,4-13; Ps 119,9-14; Mk 6,30-34

Zato mu Gospodin reče: »Jer si to tražio, a nisi iskao ni duga života, ni bogatstva, ni smrti svojih neprijatelja, nego pronicavosti u prosuđivanju pravice, evo ću učiniti po riječima tvojim: dajem ti srce mudro i razumno, kakvo nije imao nitko prije tebe niti će ga imati itko poslije tebe, ali ti dajem i što nisi tražio: bogatstvo i slavu kakve nema nitko među kraljevima.«
Riječ Gospodnja.

Otpjevni psalam: Ps 119,9-14
Pripjev: Nauči me, Gospodine, svojim pravilima!

Kako će mladić čistim sačuvati put svoj?
Čuvajući riječi tvoje.

Svim srcem svojim tebe tražim;
ne daj da zastranim od zapovijedi tvojih.

U srcu pohranih riječ tvoju,
da protiv tebe ne sagriješim.

Blagoslovljen si, Gospodine,
nauči me svojim pravilima.

Usnama svojim navješćujem
sudove usta tvojih.

Putu se propisa tvojih radujem
više no svemu bogatstvu.

Amen.

If you find yourself in a state of darkness, the key is “to reach.”

HIMAN

Već žarko sunce zalazi,
O Svjetlosti neprolazna,
Jedinstvo, Trojstvo blaženo,
U srca naša svjetlost lij!

Mi ujutro ti pjevamo,
Mi uvečer te molimo,
Udostoj nas da smjerno te
Sa anđelima slavimo.

Sa Ocem skupa Sinu mu
I tebi, Duše Presveti,
Nek bude, ko što bila je,
U vijeke slava vječita. Amen.

ili

Dan osmi, osmo razdoblje,
Od drugih blista sjajnije
Jer tvoj ga uskrs posveti,
O pobjedniče Isuse.

Nek duša naša najprije
Sad s tobom, Krist, uskrsne
Da jednom tijela uskrsnu
Od druge smrti slobodna.

Gle, svi ćemo ti uskoro
Pohrlit, Kriste, u susret
Da vječno s tobom živimo,
Svoj uskrs s tobom slavimo.

Da tvoje lice gledamo
I tebi slični budemo,
Da spoznamo te kakav si,
Ti svjetlo i slatkoćo sva.

Ti sve nas tada predat ćeš
Pod Duha Svetog pečatom
Svom Ocu, Kralju svevišnjem,
Za vjekovječno kraljevstvo. Amen.

1^ Antifona
Nek mi se uzdigne Gospodine,
molitva kao kad pred lice tvoje.

PSALAM 141 (140) 1 – 9 Molitva u kušnji i progonstvu

da bezbožno počinim djela opaka;
i u društvu zlotvora*
da ne blagujem poslastica njihovih!
Nek me samo udari pravednik,
ljubav je što me kara,+
al’ ulje grešničko neće mi glavu pomazat; *
zloći njihovoj oprijet ću se uvijek
svojom molitvom.

Čuvaj me od stupice koju postaviše meni,
od zamki zločinaca!

PSALAM 142 (141) Ti si mi utočište
Krist u tjeskobi moli Oca »Oče moj! Ako je moguće, neka me mimoiđe ova čaša…» (Mk 14, 33) i traži uskrsnuće na kojem Crkva svetaca temelji svoju vjeru (Usp Kasiodor).

Iz svega glasa vapijem Gospodinu,
iz svega glasa Gospodina zaklinjem.
Pred njim svoju izlijevam tužaljku,
tjeskobu svoju pred njim razastirem.

Ako duh moj i klone u meni,

Na putu kojim prolazim

Nemam kamo pobjeći,

Kratko čitanje Rim 11, 33 – 36
O dubino bogatstva i mudrosti, i spoznanja Božjega! Njemu slava u vijekove! Amen.

Prošnje
Jedinome Bogu, Ocu, Sinu i Duhu Svetomu, slavu iskažimo i usrdnom mu se molbom utecimo:

            Budi Gospodine uza svoj narod.

− i tvoj narod uživa obilje mira.
− i daj im život vječni.
− primi ih u nebeski pokoj.

Oče naš…

Molitva
Gospodine, tvoja nam je milost jedina nada, a tvoja zaštita jedina sigurnost. Molimo te: snaži svoju obitelj neprestanim dobročinstvima. Po Gospodinu.

Blagoslovio nas svemogući Bog, sačuvao nas od svakoga zla i priveo nas u život vječni.
O. Amen.

Blagoslivljamo Gospodina.
O. Bogu hvala.

MISNA ČITANJA
📖: 1Kr 3,4-13; Ps 119,9-14; Mk 6,30-34

Zato mu Gospodin reče: »Jer si to tražio, a nisi iskao ni duga života, ni bogatstva, ni smrti svojih neprijatelja, nego pronicavosti u prosuđivanju pravice, evo ću učiniti po riječima tvojim: dajem ti srce mudro i razumno, kakvo nije imao nitko prije tebe niti će ga imati itko poslije tebe, ali ti dajem i što nisi tražio: bogatstvo i slavu kakve nema nitko među kraljevima.«
Riječ Gospodnja.

Otpjevni psalam: Ps 119,9-14
Pripjev: Nauči me, Gospodine, svojim pravilima!

Kako će mladić čistim sačuvati put svoj?
Čuvajući riječi tvoje.

Svim srcem svojim tebe tražim;
ne daj da zastranim od zapovijedi tvojih.

U srcu pohranih riječ tvoju,
da protiv tebe ne sagriješim.

Blagoslovljen si, Gospodine,
nauči me svojim pravilima.

Usnama svojim navješćujem
sudove usta tvojih.

Putu se propisa tvojih radujem
više no svemu bogatstvu.

Our Lady of the Bowed Head is in Vienna.
“The beauty of the images moves me to contemplation, as a meadow delights the eyes and subtly infuses the soul with the glory of God.” St. John Damascene

The story of Our Lady of the Bowed Head begins in Sicily in 1610. A Carmelite monk, by the name of Dominic of Jesus and Mary, was charged with inspecting an old, broken down house to see if it might be suitable to convert into a monastery. As he walked around the grounds, he passed a pile of trash. Giving the debris a cursory look, Friar Dominic kept on walking. Suddenly he stopped. Something or someone was telling him to go back and look closer at the trash.

He heeded the prompt and returned to the garbage pile. He grabbed a broken stick and began separating the mounds of junk. When he saw the edge of a picture frame, he paused. He carefully pushed away the debris that surrounded what he now realized was a painting. Rescuing the artwork from its impending fate, he pulled it out and discovered it was an old oil painting of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

He could not believe someone had thrown such a beautiful picture of the Blessed Mother in the garbage. Friar Dominic wrote that the first thing he did was to apologize to Mary. He said, “I am sorry, dear Mother, that someone has treated thy image in such a terrible manner. I will take it back to the monastery with me and fix it up, and I will give thee the homage which thou so rightly deserve.”

Dominic did indeed, take it back to the monastery, and restore it as best he could. He hung the picture in his cell and every day gave Mary the attention, reverence, and devotion that was due her. He prayed to Our Lady with an increased exuberance asking her for the grace to please Jesus in all things.

One day when Dominic was cleaning his cell, the sunlight happened to land on the picture. Dominic thought there was dust on the painting and went over to clean it. The humble friar felt that he had been remiss in his duties and, raising his eyes to heaven, apologized to Our Lady for having neglected her painting. He even apologized for using the old rag he had.

As he proceeded to dust the picture, Our Lady’s face began to move, and she smiled at the priest. Dominic was not sure what was happening and then Our Lady spoke to him, saying, “Fear not, my son, for your request is granted! Your prayer will be answered and will be part of the reward, which you will receive for the love that you have for my Son Jesus and myself.”

She proceeded to tell him that she would grant him any favor he wanted. He asked for Her to help his friend be released from Purgatory. She told him, “Dominic, my son, I will deliver this soul from Purgatory if you will make many sacrifices and will have many Masses offered for this soul.” Then the apparition of Mary faded away.

The apparition of Our Lady vanished and Friar Dominic knew he had to share the painting with everyone. It was placed in the Oratory of St. Charles located next to the Church of Santa Maria de la Scale.

The painting remained in the Church of Santa Maria de la Scale until Dominic’s death in 1630. Then it was loaned to the Duke of Bavaria, Maximilian. Later it was loaned to Emperor Ferdinand II and then returned to the Carmelite Fathers after Ferdinand’s death in 1655. In 1901 a new church was built in Vienna and the image was given a place of honor there.

Today it is in the monastery Church of Vienna Dobling. On September 27, 1931, it was solemnly crowned by Pope Pius XI – the 300th anniversary of its arrival in Vienna.

Fr. Dominic was declared Venerable by St. Pius X in 1907.

The Way, The Truth, And The Life: Tabernacle Series Part 4
Exodus 25:1-9
“Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.
And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and goats’ hair; ram skins dyed red, badger skins, and acacia wood; oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense; onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.
According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.’”

(The Holy Place)

The difference between God’s priority and man’s is VERY telling in this: Only ONE chapter in the entire Bible is devoted to creation, with which humans seem endlessly fascinated. In stark contrast, there are no less that SEVEN CHAPTERS devoted to the construction of the tabernacle, it’s furnishings, and the priestly garments. It’s crystal clear to me what, or more to the point, “Who,” is foremost on our Father’s mind: JESUS! So, that’s what we’re going to study…..well, one of the things.

Replica Of Heaven.
God described everything to Moses about how to build His Tabernacle down to the most minute detail up on Mt. Sinai. He even imparted special inspiration and skill to the artisans and craftsmen among them who would make all the artifacts and every priestly garment.

The Apostle John, while on the island of Patmos, was transported in the spirit to the real Tabernacle in heaven and saw it with his own eyes. (The one Moses built was only a miniature replica). He wrote about his experience in the first chapter of Revelation. From his description, you can tell exactly where he was standing and in which direction he was facing:

Revelation 1:10-12
10 “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard BEHIND ME a loud voice, as of a trumpet, saying,
11 “I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last,” and “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: To Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and o Laodicea.
12 “Then I {John} turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One {Jesus} like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.”

The Holy Place.
The entrance to the Holy Place, as well as the outer court was on the EAST SIDE of the Tabernacle. As you entered there, the table of showbread would be on your right, the altar of incense directly ahead of you in front of the veil, and the menorah to your left. You are facing WEST.

John said in the scripture above that he turned around to face the voice he heard speaking BEHIND HIM. That means he was facing the table of shewbread, or Northward. When he turned around to see the seven golden lamp stands, he would have turned to face the SOUTH SIDE of the Holy place.

Here we have the occurrence again of the number FOUR: East, West, North, South. This depicts the FOUR “corners” of the cross which is effectual for the FOUR “corners” of the world!

(For more information on the importance and significance of the mentioning of the four directions, follow the link below:

(The outer court.)

The Way.
Rabbinical tradition refers to the entrance of the outer court as “The Way,” where the bronze altar is located. Bronze in the Bible typifies judgment. The bronze altar, shaped like a cross, reminds us of the cross where all our sins were judged: Past, present and future.

Keep in mind now that ALL YOUR SINS WERE FUTURE WHEN JESUS DIED.

thinking

Spiritual Childhood.
The outer court depicts salvation, yes, but it is also a picture of judgmental attitudes toward sin and sinners; Spiritual childhood, if you will. Many Christians and churches, never seem to grow past this outer court stage, apparently content to dwell there.
God still loves them, of course, and they are still IN the tabernacle, meaning they are still saved and going to heaven when they die. But He expects all of us to grow up; to come into the Holy Place and, ultimately, into the Holy of Holies: The place of pure grace. He wants us to grow in our faith, trust, and love and, especially, in our knowledge of Jesus.

Church, we were not given the ministry of judgment but of RECONCILIATION. Soon enough, Judgment Day will come…..but it is not here yet. We need to stick to our program, preach the gospel, and see to it that as many people as possible get saved!

FAITH.
In order come to Christ and be born again, you must have faith, so the outer court is also a picture of “FAITH.” As your knowledge of Jesus increases, so does your faith and trust.
This growth takes you from the outer court into the next phase of spiritual growth: The Holy Place. Here you learn even more about Jesus’ beauty, glory, and His love for you. 💖

The Truth.

The next part of the tabernacle is called the “Holy Place.” In Rabbinical tradition, its entrance was called “THE TRUTH.” Herein was contained the seven branch menorah, the table of showbread (a typology of communion), and the altar of incense, depicting the prayers of the saints. Only members of the priestly tribe were allowed to enter here. The average Israelite was excluded.

All of these furnishings are pictures of the Church. She gives light to the world, represented by the Menorah; she celebrates the death of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by holy communion; and the prayers of all her saints ascend to God like sweet smelling perfume and activate her covenant with God.

It is here that you can see the veil which separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies. On the other side of it was the Ark of the covenant. Woven into the veil were FOUR pictures as shown below: A Lion, an Ox, the face of a Man, and a flying Eagle. We will discuss their meanings in greater detail in part 5 of this series.

(The Holy Place)

Hope.

The Church is the entity which teaches the world about the “HOPE” of eternal salvation in Jesus and of the rapture of the Church before the Tribulation. Prophetically speaking, most of the Church today is here, in this in-between place: In between the bronze of the outer court (judgment) and the pure Grace of the “Kadoshim: the Holy of Holies.”

You have come to this in-between place because you have grown in your faith. Where once all you knew was forgiveness of your sins, you may also have been a little afraid of God, not completely sure of His love for you.

Here in the Holy Place, you have now learned to have HOPE: A confident expectation of good things from God. Your trust in Him begins to grow deeper, but there may still be some confusion about Him.

Winds Of Doctrines.

In this middle ground are many winds of doctrine, controversy, and great confusion about the finished work of Jesus, such as “Are we under law? Are we under Grace? Are we saved by grace but preserve it by our good works? Does grace produce licentiousness? Are we eternally secure or not? Can a Christian commit the unpardonable sin? What is the unpardonable sin?” On and on it goes.

(For more on the unpardonable sin, you may follow the link below:
https://emmausroadministries.international/2016/06/18/the-un-pardonable-sin/)

You see? MUCH confusion which equals much uncertainty. The “Sea” here is still liquid, so to speak, typifing that very confusion, uncertainty, and inevitable instability. It is very easy to sink beneath this sea, these waves of uncertainty, like Peter did when he walked on the water with Jesus.
But Hallelujah! This changes as you mature! You are now ready to enter into the Holy of Holies where the sea is liquid NO MORE: IT IS CRYSTAL. SOLID. STABLE! (See Revelaion 4:6.).

Mixture.
What do I mean by, “Mixutre?” The bronze (judgment) of the outer court is often mixed with the gold (grace), of the Holy of Holies. Gold in the Bible is a picture of Divine Righteousness. Mixture is the essence of Galatianism which, unfortunately, is widely taught in Churches today. Paul warned the Church about this. In fact, the entire book of Galatians is devoted to this very topic.

The Life.

This the best part! The entrance into the Holy of Holies was called, “THE LIFE,” in Rabinical tradition. It is the place of rest; of lasting peace; of safety and provision. Jesus invited us to enter this place when He said, “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying…” in John’s Revelation.

What He meant was, “Come into the place of safety. Come up higher, up where everywhere is gold, where the sea is CRYSTAL. There is no tossing to and fro here.”

You are here because you have come to understand His finished work. A throne is waiting for you on which to sit and rest; a rest which springs from that understanding.”

The Secret Place.
This the secret place of the Most High that David spoke of in Psalm 91. It is the place of pure LOVE! For a more in-depth study on the Secret Place, you may follow the link below:
https://emmausroadministries.international/2016/06/26/psalm-91-part-1-of-7-of-7-the-secret-place/

The Old Revealed In The New.
All of these three parts of the tabernacle of Moses are a beautiful typologies of our Lord Jesus. They perfectly depict the verses below:

1 Corinthians 13:!1-13
“11 When I was a child, {in the outer court and holy place} I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man {in the holy of holies}, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13 And now abide FAITH {Outer court}, HOPE {The Holy Place}, and LOVE {The Joly of Holies}, these three; but the GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE {The Holy of Holies}.”

Depiction Of Jesus!
When Jesus said of Himself in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” His Jewish audience heard something you and I would never have caught. They understood He was saying that THE ENTIRE TABERNACLE WAS A PICTURE OF HIM! 😮
AWESOME!!! 💖

In more ways than we could possibly have imagined, Jesus really IS…..
THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE!

You may follow the link below to part 5 where we will discuss WHY we have four Gospels:

God’s Protection Plan: Tabernacle Series Part 8
The Glory Of The Lord Is Your Rear Guard

Revelation 6:1-2
“6 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.”

(Jesus in heaven with a golden girdle about His breast.)

In this part of our study on the Tabernacle, God shows us His personal protection plan for His people. We will begin, however, with the last book of the Bible.

Chapter 6 of Revelation describes the dreaded four horsemen that will be unleashed upon the earth in the latter days. This will happen after the rapture of the Church and before the Second coming. We will first study a little bit about each horseman, then tie it all together.

What do they have to do with the Tabernacle of Moses? Come and see!

The Rider On The White Horse.

In the opening scripture, the rider on the white horse about which the angel is talking, is the spirit of Anti-Christ. He will spew out lies and false doctrines, deceiving the nations. It’s plain to see that the kinds of things he will be unleashing on the earth are already beginning to happen.

But if you think its bad now, wait until the Holy Spirit and His Church are taken out of the world in the Rapture! It will become pandemic! Believe me, you do NOT want to be left behind when it hits! 😲

The Rider On The Red Horse.

Revelation 6:3-4

“3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature call out, “Come!” 4 And out came another horse, bright red; its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another; and he was given a great sword.”

This also is beginning to happen. Again, it is going to get exponentially worse during the Great Tribulation. Horrific terror attacks are happening all over the world, lawlessness is running rampant, and the very fabric of society seems as if it’s completely unraveling. Bad is good, good is bad; black is white, white is black. The world is rapidly going crazy, spinning out of control.

weeping emoji

All these things are just the beginning of sorrows; birth-pangs if you will, of a world that longs for true peace. Sadly, when the Church is taken out of the world and satan is loosed on this earth, things will be so bad, it will make all of these horrific events look like an afternoon picnic. It will be so terrible that, if God doesn’t cut those days short, there would be no one left alive. 😲

The Rider On The Black Horse.

Revelation 6:5-6

“When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

The rider on the black horse with scales in his hand spreads lack and famine on the earth. Today, in advance of this horseman, there are pockets of lack and famine here and there. But in the days just prior to Jesus’ return, this will occur on a global scale.

The Rider On The Pale Horse.
Revelation 6:7-8
“When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, and by the beasts of the earth.”

Last of all is the rider on the pale horse. The one that sat on him “…was Death, and Hades followed with him.” It goes on to say that “power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the **beasts of the earth.”

**The phrase, “Beasts of the earth” in this verse is a diminutive term in Greek. It is referring to tiny, invisible organisms which cause all manner of diseases; invisible to the naked eye, that is: Viruses, biological weapons, Ebola, S.A.R.S., incurable diseases like A.I.D.S., etc.

Folks, that means 25% of the world’s population will be wiped out by these things! 😮

(How the enemy attacks us.)

GOD’S PLAN.

Well fear not, Church! Our God has a perfect protection plan to protect us from the dangers in the last days. Our first clue is found in the book of Ezekiel, who had a very strange vision in which he described four living beings:

“10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the FACE OF A MAN; each of the four had the FACE OF A LION on the right side, each of the four had the FACE OF AN OX on the left side, and each of the four had the FACE OF AN EAGLE.

Sound familiar? It should! You’ve already met these creatures. They are the exact same creatures that John described in Revelation. (Are you sensing a pattern here? 😉)

(Living creature of Ezekiel’s vision.)

Then Zechariah, in chapter 6, verses 1-6, also records seeing “Four horses.” The angel who spoke to him in his vision, however, called these horsemen, “The four winds.” Hmmm…..
Let’s go connect the dots now and see how all these things fit in with the Tabernacle of Moses and ancient Israel.

Camp In The Wilderness.

God had the Israelites set up their camp in a very particular order. The names of each tribe, their individual banners, and general lay out speaks volumes! Through all these things, the LORD is showing us the best way to conduct our lives in order to keep us safe, especially in the perilous times just prior to Jesus’ return; you know, like NOW.

(Camp configuration of the children of Israel.)

Keil and Delitzsch, two well-known Hebrew scholars, have translated the Greek New Testament into Hebrew for our Hebrew-speaking Israeli brethren. This is what they say about the camp of the Israelites:

“According to Rabbinical tradition, the standard of Judah bore the figure of the Lion, Reuben’s banner had the likeness of a Man’s head, Ephraim’s the figure of an Ox, and Dan’s the figure of an Eagle.”
How cool is that? Reuben’s banner was the one with the likeness of The Son and his name means, ” See the Son,” in Hebrew! 😁

Now, if you were facing north, the tribe to your right on the east side would be Judah. On their banner was the figure of a Lion. In front of you on the North side you would see the the tribe of Dan with a Flying Eagle on their banner. To your left toward the West, you would see the tribe of Ephraim with a picture of an Ox on their banner; and on the South side behind you would be the tribe of Reuben with the face of a Man on their banner. {see picture below.}

(Devil’s attacks from the four directions are thwarted by Jesus!)

Ezekiel 1:10 reads, “As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a MAN; each of the four had the face of a LION on the right side, each of the four had the face of an OX on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an EAGLE.”

These figures are all in the same position and listed in the same order as the banners of the tribes of Israel! 😮 What are they? The four faces of Jesus described by each of the four Gospels!

All the fullness of the godhead dwells in Jesus. 🙌🏻 A complete description of that fullness is found in the four Gospels. Reading them over and over and over and over again will form in us the kingly qualities of Matthew, a servant’s heart from Mark; The human empathy in Luke’s Gospel; and the Godly identity, the keen sight, and prophetic vision from John’s account.

Genealogies.

For those of you who have been following along in this series, this will be review:

Matthew and Luke both contain genealogies of Jesus. Matthew’s gospel, where Jesus is portrayed as the King of the Jews, certifies His legitimate claim to the throne. In fact, he has a double claim because both parents were direct descendants of King David, even though Joseph provided no seed. The genealogy here begins with David, the king. Abraham is also mentioned as it was to him that was first given the promise of kingship, but also of the land.

Luke’s gospel, where Jesus is portrayed most often as the Son of Man, certifies by his record that Jesus is 100% man. That is why his record goes all the way back to Adam, the first man.

(For more on who was the rightful king of Israel at the time of Jesus’ birth, (and it wasn’t Herod), as well as some little-known history, you may follow the link below and read all about “The Inn” where Jesus should have been welcome 🤨):

(Every tent faced toward the Tabernacle.)

Configuration Of The Camp.

Back to Israel’s encampment….

Every tent was pitched facing toward the tabernacle to demonstrate that everything in our lives must point toward Jesus.

When Israel camped like that in the desert, their backs were obviously exposed to potential enemy attacks; yet there is no record that they ever were attacked. When you and I, Church, do the likewise, meaning when we keep our focus on Jesus, GOD TAKES CARE OF OUR BACK. He is our rear guard!

You see, if we turn around with our backs toward Jesus and try to handle our problems ourselves, or the problems of the world, who is staring us in the face? The devil, for whom we are NO match.

So turn around, Church! Let Jesus take care of him! The BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD and He has given us the victory!

If the enemy comes in from the North, what does he see? The face of a fierce EAGLE and the attack is thwarted!

If he comes from the West, he is gored by THE OX. Defeated again!

If he tries to attack from the south, he sees the face of JESUS, The One Who crushed his head! No success there!

If he tries to attack from the East, he sees the face of THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH!!! Complete and utter defeat on all fronts!

Notice, in the picture of the four living creatures above, you and I cannot be seen because we are hidden in the midst of them! This is the Secret Place of the Most High where you and I are safe and secure. What a beautiful picture The Holy Spirit has painted for us of what it means to be “Hid with Christ in God.”

This is the safest…..NO; it’s the ONLY….way to live: To Face our “tents” toward Jesus–The Tabernacle–and allow the Glory of The Lord to be our rear guard.

That’s our God’s Protection Plan!

You may follow the link below to the last part of this series, #9. We’ll learn about the coverings of the Tabernacle and see just how covered and protected we are!

Trojstva) VEČERNJA MOLITVA Isuse, ostavio si nam Sebe u sakramentu svoga Tijela i Krvi. Dao si nam neizreciv dar. Dar bogat ljubavlju. Darovao si nam čitavog Sebe. Hvala Ti, Isuse. Boli me kada primijetim da me netko uopće ne sluša ili me potpuno ignorira. Hvala Ti, Isuse …
